Strategy Magazine have awarded the overall ‘Cause + Action 2009′ award to CBC’s One Million Acts of Green (OMAoG).
The awards recognise the best of Canadian corporate social responsibility plans and CBC and Cisco Systems picked up the overall winner award.
In less than six months, the site succeeded its named intentions. Cisco knew that change starts with one person doing one thing.
We wrote about the site in October, to recap OMAoG is “a social networkig site for environmental sustainability, fatureing user profiles, friends, groups, blogs, challenges, photographs and video sharing to encourage visitors to spread th word virally, demonstrating the impact of the human network in effecting postiive change”
The success of the site and the statistics show that there has been a large international following and Cisco plan to roll out the program internationally.
What is particularly effective about OMAoG is that the consumer didn’t have to buy anything. The site is inspirational.
Congratulations to Onemillionactsofgreen.com and
