In November, New York magazine (November 24th 2008, pg 184) dedicated it’s back page to pointing out the similarity between these two political sites;
http://www.netanyahu.org.il, Likud leader’s site.
and
http://www.barakobama.com, President Barak Obama’s election site that has emerged to become an ongoing communication site.
Sadly my hebrew isn’t that good so I can’t register and take a screen grab to demonstrate the remarkable similarities; colour pallet (although blue, white and red are popular political pallets), fund raising options, community outreach options, use of video, blog, images and frankly look and feel too.
The functionality of the web and the tools availalbe make similarites probable, but in this instance they do seem close! Of course they are both political sites too.
After the May 2008 London Mayoral elections, most Web2.0 applications slipped by; e.g. Facebook profiles, fundraising - unlike the Obama site which has gone from strength to strength and continues to be used as the center piece of the online communictions.
