Not much seems to be written on or acknowledged about the phenomenon of spam comments on blogs. It is relentless and can become an administrative nightmare if not dealt with - ie deleted - regularly!
Typically we get three types:
The upfront offering:
Porn
Pharmaceuticals
Insurances
Cars
Pay dayloans
Watches
The cover up offering
